Project HeartStart Australia was a community based, publicly accessible defibrillation project, successfully initiated by St John Ambulance Australia in 2004. The aim of the project was to minimise life threatening situations resulting from sudden cardiac arrest (SCAs) by installing 300 public access defibrillators (AEDs) through Australia.
